What Is KC3?

KC3 stands for Kansas Construction Careers Coalition. KC3 is a partnership between the Associated General Contractors of Kansas, Inc., the Kansas Contractors Association and the National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC).

KC3 was created to generate interest and promote careers in the construction industry through career fairs, after school programs and other educational channels.

AGC of Kansas

AGC of Kansas members build commercial buildings such as schools, malls, churches and office buildings. Below are a few examples of construction projects by AGC of Kansas members. AGC members build "vertical" buildings.

 

Kansas Contractors Association

KCA represents the heavy highway, utility side of the industry. KCA members build highways, roads, bridges, water treatment facilities and other "horizontal" construction projects. Click on the images below to seea larger picture.

 

National Assoication of Women in Construction

The National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC) originally began as Women in Construction of Fort Worth, Texas. It was founded in 1953 by 16 women working in the construction industry. Knowing that women represented only a small fraction of the construction industry, the founders organized NAWIC to create a support network. Women in Construction of Fort Worth was so successful that it gained its national charter in 1955 and became the National Association of Women in Construction.
